Assistant Professor – Physics of Complex Systems

The University of California invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Physics of Complex Systems within our Department of Physics & Astronomy. Complex systems is a highly interdisciplinary academic field using statistical mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, and applied mathematics to elucidate the organization and function of complex systems across a wide range of physical and applied disciplines. The ideal candidate should have a deep-rooted interest and demonstrated expertise in one or more areas such as: many-body physics, physics of information, computational physics, network science, machine learning, complex biological systems, non-equilibrium behavior, and complex earth systems. As a part of our dynamic faculty, the selected individual will be expected to conduct innovative research, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to curriculum enhancement, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations both within and outside the department.
