The role:

Working as part of a small team within the Sales department, the successful applicant will be responsible for application testing and development in our ultrashort pulse laser laboratory. 


Qualification/testing of applications on behalf of our customers Working with ultrashort pulse laser micromachining systems, motion systems and galvanometer scanners Laser process optimisation, documentation and communication of the results Direct interaction with customers, OEMs and our global sales team Assisting with customer visits to the applications laboratory and showroom Assisting with installation, training and application support in the field

Essential requirements:

Qualification in technical sciences (e.g. physics, engineering, materials science, photonics, automation, electronics), or industrial experience in a relevant discipline

Good analytical thinking ability, problem solving skills, and attention to detail

Willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement Keen interest in emerging technologies, specifically in lasers and photonics

Ability to work independently, manage own workload, and to complete tasks in a timely and customer-focused manner

Ability to work safely in a laboratory setting Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken)

Willingness to perform basic tasks on occasion, as required to support other areas of the business


Degree level of scientific or technical education

Knowledge of ultrashort pulse laser technology and applications

Some experience in research and development

Experience with analytical apparatus and measuring systems

Good knowledge of optics, nonlinear optics and laser processing

Professional experience in laser micromachining
