Pay Range
$74,700 - $92,736 for the E06.1 Level
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
We have an opening for a W87-1 Modification (MOD) Program Hardware Planner. You will support management of the Material Resource Schedule (MRS) to identify hardware deliverables from multiple technical teams including Product Realization Teams (PRTs) and System Test teams to support component, subassembly, and system level development and qualification tests. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) within the Engineering Directorate and will support the W87-1 MOD program.
Depending on your assignment, this position may offer a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You may have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
You will
- Assist in gathering project data from the technical staff to evaluate and track hardware quantities and fidelity as well as planned hardware delivery schedules for test activities;
- Support regular releases of an updated MRS by tracking MRS milestones established by engineering leadership to ensure responsible parties are completing activities on time;
- Support the effort to document and track all incoming hardware and hardware packages into the W87-1 storage area;
- Communicate effectively amongst stakeholders to assist with the improvement of hardware planning and inventory software;
- Assist in the development of programmatic documents such as reports, decision memos, and action items;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship;
- Associate degree in Business or Technology area, or equivalent combination of education and related experience;
- Knowledge and understanding of classified document control, email, and computing procedures;
- Experience coordinating workflow activities in a dynamic work environment and ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities;
- Ability to communicate clear expectations on project and process activities, as well as assist in the facilitation of business process improvements;
- Effective organizational skills, customer support, task prioritization, attention to detail, accuracy, and independent follow through;
- Experience working in an inventory storage area applying practices/policies and/or regulatory requirements;
- Ability to learn new software applications.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience working in the nuclear weapons program and with LLNL’s operations and business processes;
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the maturation of business software;
- Experience gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for documenting functional needs.

Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.

If you use a medical device, which pairs with a mobile device, you must still follow the rules concerning the mobile device in individual sections within Limited Areas. Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities require separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
