Job Details
The Radiation Hydrodynamics Branch of the US Naval Research Laboratory, DC is seeking a post-doctoral researcher. The research opportunity focuses on the fundamental nature of hypersonic flight. The research is theoretical. The goal is to develop codes and capabilities addressing the shock wave dynamics, non-equilibrium plasma chemistry, materials physics, and radiation.
Qualifications of a successful candidate include:
- ability to develop and maintain modeling capabilities for non-equilibrium plasmas and plasma-material interactions
- strong publication record,
- a self-starter who is interested in taking on a leadership role in the research,
- and adaptability and versatility.
The start date for this appointment is expected to be between January 2025 and October 2025. The program provides an annual starting stipend of $99,200.00, a professional travel allocation of $3,000 per tenure year, relocation reimbursement and more.
