We are seeking a qualified candidate for a PhD position within the Experimental Particle Physics and Gravity (EPPG) group at Ghent University (https://epp.ugent.be).
The successful candidate will work on high-energy IceCube data analysis, with a particular focus on astrophysical tau neutrinos and flavor composition. A Master's degree in physics, astrophysics (or equivalent diploma) is required. Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ and an interest in astroparticle or neutrino physics are expected.
The EPPG group provides a stimulating scientific environment. Beyond IceCube, members of the group are actively involved in other major international projects, such as CMS, LIGO/VIRGO, RNO-G, and Project 8. The group works both on analysis and detector R&D.
The PhD contract is for 4 years with competitive salary and benefits. Employment will start at the earliest possible date. If you have a preferred start date, please indicate it in your application.
