Assistant Professor Position in Experimental Quantum Information Science

The Department of Physics at New York University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty line for an experimental physicist in the area of quantum information physics. We welcome applications from researchers studying solid state quantum information platforms, including, but not limited to, superconducting devices, spin systems, two-dimensional materials, and defect/vacancy physical systems.
The successful candidate is expected to initiate and lead a vibrant research group, be a strongly interacting member of the newly established Center for Quantum Information Physics within the Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applications will be considered at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level. The review of applications will begin on November 15th 2024. Qualifications:
A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics or a related field and an ability to conduct original research that is documented by peer-reviewed publications. Previous experience in teaching and outreach is highly desirable.
