We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the Research Training Group RTG 2575 Rethinking Quantum Field Theory funded by the German Research Foundation. The position will start in the fall of 2025 and shall run until March 2029 (possibly with a 6 month extension).
We are looking for an experienced postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in modern techniques for perturbative quantum field theory, scattering amplitudes and/or applications of effective field theory techniques to the two-body problem in General Relativity with a keen interest in a blossoming crossover research area. The successful candidate will innovate calculations in post-Newtonian and post-Minkowskian approximations as well as resummation techniques for binaries of compact objects. Besides working on this project, they will have the chance to develop their own independent research program. The position will be hosted by the groups of Alessandra Buonanno and Jan Steinhoff at the MPI for Gravitational Physics Potsdam, Peter Marquard at DESY Zeuthen and Jan Plefka at Humboldt University Berlin. The employment will be at Humboldt University Berlin.
