The Collaborative Innovation Center for Particles and Interactions (CICPI) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) invites applications for one postdoctoral position working on Higgs and EW phenomenology at the LHC and future colliders. The position can start in the fall of 2025 or earlier.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or expected soon) in particle physics phenomenology. The candidates should have either excellent data analysis skills or good experience in collider phenomenology, and the ability to carry out an independent research program. The position is for two years, with a possibility to extend for another two years. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with the experience of the selected candidate (150k~250k RMB gross income). Travel funding will be provided, allowing the postdocs to travel for international conferences and collaboration. Various university benefits are also provided, including staff health insurance coverage and housing subsidies.
USTC hosts a big theoretical high-energy physics group with research interests including particle physics phenomenology and the interdisciplinary between particle physics and quantum computing. The particle physics laboratory at USTC is a leading research center in China. The USTC ATLAS Group actively works on several aspects of the ATLAS experiment. The group has a strong focus on measurements and searches in the Higgs sector, Electroweak precision measurements, and searches for new physics Beyond the Standard Model.
The positions are now open and applications will be accepted before Jan. 25, 2025. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae with a list of publications included, a statement of research interests, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent via email to Ying-Ying Li (yingyingli@ustc.edu.cn) and Hongtao Yang (hongtao.yang@cern.ch).
