Job Details

The Department of Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time or part-time tenure-track or tenured faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment, with the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning Fall 2025. Applicants will be considered at the level of assistant professor. Associate and full professors will be considered in exceptional cases.

Candidates will be considered in two broad areas:

The successful applicants will be required to teach; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent externally funded research program at the forefront of aerospace engineering and sciences; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Applicants should consult the department’s website to review our academic and research programs (https://engineering.tamu.edu/aerospace) in particular our experimental low-speed wind tunnels.

Company

We provide unique cutting-edge educational and research opportunities in areas including space exploration, national defense, air transportation, communications and sustainable energy.

To prepare students for careers in modern aviation, Texas A&M introduced its first aeronautical courses in 1928. This introduction into the field led to the establishment of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering in 1940. By 1963, as the nation was in the midst of the space race and dreaming of exploring the universe, the department expanded to include the study of astronautics and was renamed the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
