Postdoc positions in particle physics and cosmology

The School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences at the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study（HIAS) invites applications for postdoctoral fellow positions starting as early as possible

in theoretical high-energy physics. The fields of interest of our group include particle physics within and beyond the Standard Model, cosmology, astroparticle physics, gravitational wave physics, dark matter, quantum gravity, heavy flavor physics, neutrino physics as well as its phenomenological applications. Yue-Liang Wu - quantum field theories in particle physics and gravity

Rong-Gen Cai - gravity, cosmology and black holes

Chao-Qiang Geng - heavy flavor physics and CP violation

Ye-Ling Zhou - grand unification, neutrino theories, particle cosmology, thermal field theory

Kohei Kamada - particle cosmology, chiral effects, inflation, baryogenesis, cosmological magnetic fields, gravitational waves

Anna Tokareva - quantum gravity, theoretical cosmology, gravitational waves from the early Universe, EFTs and positivity bounds

Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study is jointly organized by Hangzhou municipal government and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). It is developed in close association with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics Asia-Pacific (ICTP-AP) and Institute of Theoretical Physics (Beijing). The objective of the school is to build a first-class international scientific research group, academic exchange center and talent training base mainly focused on particle physics, cosmology, gravitational waves. HIAS is located in a beautiful area of Hangzhou City, the latter is in 1-hour commuting distance from the large international airport in Shanghai.

Working conditions:

1. The positions are for 2 years with the possibility of extension. The starting salary is around RMB 300,000 (around 40k euro) per year (before taxes).

2. The school will provide some scientific research funds.

3. Accommodation on campus will be provided at a low price (about 600 RMB per month for 60 m^2 loft apartment).

Formal requirements of HIAS (the candidates should meet both):

1. Less than 3 years after receiving PhD degree at the moment of application deadline.

2. The age limit is below 35 years for these positions.

3. PhD certificate is required for the employment.
