The Service de Physique Théorique at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) has an opening for two post-doctoral positions on the topics of Primordial Black Holes and Gravitational Wave (GW) data analysis, in particular long-duration signals from subsolar-mass black holes and bursts.
The contracts will be for two years, starting from fall 2025.
One position is embedded in a project funded by the Walloon Region for the preparation of Einstein Telescope and will focus on new methods for the data analysis of long-duration gravitational-wave signals from subsolar-mass black hole mergers and bursts. A tight collaboration with the teams led by Prof. S. Clesse at ULB and by Prof. Maxime Fays at the the STAR Institute of the Université de Liège (ULiège) is expected for this position.
The second position will focus on the gravitational-wave signatures of primordial black holes in GW observations (search of subsolar-mass black hole mergers, mergers with extreme mass ratios, stochastic background, continuous waves, Bayesian population analysis). The candidate should have spent less than two years in Belgium during the last five years to be eligible.
Applications including a CV, a list of publications and a research statement (all in a single pdf file), as well as 2 letters of recommendation, must be sent to physthulb2@gmail.com (Please do not forget to specify your date of birth, the date of your PhD defense, past or expected).
Applications sent by 16/01/2025 will be considered first.
