The Experimental High Energy Physics group at the University of Tarapacá, Chile (South America) invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in experimental high energy particle or nuclear physics, in particular:

  • for one position to work in the BESIII experiment at BEPCII in Beijing, China (http://bes3.ihep.ac.cn/);
  • for one position to work in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Switzerland (https://atlas.cern/);
  • for one position to work in the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), USA (https://www.bnl.gov/rhic/).

The University of Tarapacá is a public university based in Arica, Chile, having also a campus in Iquique and offices in Santiago, Chile. More information about the University can be found at https://www.uta.cl . The group of experimental high energy particle and nuclear physics at the UTA is involved in the experiments CMS and ATLAS at the LHC, STAR and sPHENIX at RHIC, and BESIII at BEPCII.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. Thesis in experimental high-energy particle or nuclear physics with a date not earlier than 1 January 2022 is required, except for the post doctoral position for the BESIII experiment, for which also candidates with dates of PhD Thesis defence before 2022 will be considered.

For all positions it is possible to apply also if the defence date for the PhD Thesis is scheduled in 2025 and before 30 June 2025, if the PhD Thesis Diploma or an official certificate from the Department of Physics that the candidate has completed successfully the PhD defence, is sent to us before 30 June 2025.
