The Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague welcomes applications for a PhD position (4 years) in theoretical particle physics with focus on particle and astroparticle physics beyond the Standard Model.

Candidates must hold (or expect to obtain) an MSc (or equivalent) in Physics, Astronomy, or Mathematics before the start of the appointment. Interested applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  • statement of research experience and interests (past research experience and future plans);
  • two or three letters of recommendation;
  • transcripts of all completed courses and grades;
  • copies of academic certificates (Bc and MSc, if available);
  • expected date of MSc degree completion.

Other optional materials, such as copies of English language certificates, are welcome. All documents should be sent by the application deadline, 28/02/2025, via email to phd.bsm.prague@gmail.com.

Letters of recommendation clearly identifying the applicant must be sent directly by referees to phd.bsm.prague@gmail.com and they must arrive before the same application deadline.

A successful candidate will contribute to the group's research in BSM phenomenology with overlaps in astrophysics, cosmology and nuclear physics (baryon and lepton number violation, neutrinos, dark matter, gravitational waves, etc.). The PhD position is expected to start in autumn 2025.
