2025 NextQuantum Fellow Recruitment

NextQuantum, the Hybrid Quantum Computing Center at Seoul National University, is recruiting NextQuantum Fellows (postdoctoral researchers and research professors). Please refer to the below for details.

1. Open Positions and Responsibilities
Position: Postdoctoral researcher and research professor
Tasks: Research on quantum information science and technology focusing on quantum computing and related activities in the Center
Open Positions: Up to 2
Employment Type: Fixed-term contract

 2. Qualifications
Degree Requirements
 - Postdoctoral researcher: Ph.D. degree (or expected within 6 months)
 - Research professor: Ph.D. degree

3. Employment Conditions
- The successful candidates will be appointed as a postdoctoral researcher or a research professor.
- Period of appointment:
  Postdoctoral researcher: 2 years (renewable)
  Research professor: 3 years (renewable)
- Remuneration (before tax):
  Postdoctoral researcher: KRW 60-80 million per year
  Research professor: KRW 80-100 million per year
※ Plus an annual research support fee of KRW 10 million for attendance at domestic and international conferences, etc.
- Workplace: Seoul National University
- On-campus accommodations with modern facilities and reasonable rates are available for non-Korean researchers. Health and safety insurance and severance pay shall also be supported according to university regulations and employment laws.

4. Selection Criteria and Procedures
- Procedure: Document screening ▶ Interview (research presentation evaluation) ▶ Final selection

· Resume (free format) including education, experience and publication list (A Google Scholar link or a page link about your research achievements is recommended.)
· Applicants are encouraged to nominate in their application email one professor among the Principal Investigators at Seoul National University, the host institution, with whom they wish to engage in primary joint research and collaboration, together with simple descriptions of the applicants research interests. (Professors can be contacted in advance.)

- Interview (individual notification to shortlisted applicants)
· 2nd document submission: Letters of recommendation (2 or more people) and Research plan (about 3 pages)
- After final selection, additional documents required for the appointment process will be requested from successful candidates.
- Appointment date: Negotiable

5. Notices
- All submitted documents will not be returned, and any disadvantages due to errors or omissions in information will be the responsibility of the applicant.
- If grounds for disqualification are confirmed after successful candidates are notified or if the information provided on the application form is found to be false, acceptance or appointment will be cancelled.
