Job Details
Essential Duties:
- We’re looking for someone to join a team committed to understanding and improving the operation of quantum-dot-based spin qubit systems by working at the forefront of advanced spin qubit measurements. This research staff member will be responsible for the design, analysis and validation of complex broadband assemblies, with a focus on signal integrity (SI) and electromagnetic (EM) effects used to control highly complex Quantum Systems. Develop new simulation methods when demands exceed the state of the art. Create new design strategies where possible to support functional requirements while meeting SI and EM goals. Work closely with other domain experts performing related functional analyses (e.g. packaging design and analysis, circuit design, thermal/mechanical analysis, etc.).
Required Skills:
- This position requires strong knowledge and demonstrated ability in laboratory research, including skill in debugging and interpreting data from complex measurements;
- Experience or familiarity with a wide range of scientific and modeling tools including CAD / simulation, HSPICE, HFSS, Q3D, SI-Wave, CST Studio, Sonnet, ADS, Sigrity, etc.;
- Demonstrated ability to develop, create, and deploy software tools in a research environment. GitLab and Python based software development preferred;
- Ability and desire to work in a collaborative, team-based environment that integrates computer science, data science, physics, and engineering.
Required Education:
- Significant experience in a research environment involving electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or related field;
- Expected experience of BA/BS + 6 years of industry experience, MS + 4 years of industry experience, or doctoral degree;
- Candidates with different experience levels may be considered for other positions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment;
- Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment, and be on-site at least 4 days a week.
Special Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship;
- Must have or be willing to apply for and maintain security clearance.
