Professor in Particle Beam Therapy (PBT) in the department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate an internationally leading programme of Particle Beam Therapy research with focused expertise in developing proton, electron and ion FLASH beam therapy.
The successful candidate will be based at the University of Manchester Department of Physics and Astronomy and will spend time at the nearby Christie NHS Foundation Trust site. The Christie Foundation is the location of one of the world’s largest radiotherapy departments, it was the first NHS organisation to deliver high-energy proton beam therapy in 2018 and has the UK’s only dedicated proton beam therapy research facility. The successful candidate will be a member of the Accelerator Physics research group in the department of Physics & Astronomy and the Cockcroft Institute for Accelerator Science and Technology and will work with PRECISE group and the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC).
