Nuclear energy is a vital part of the UK strategy to prevent climate change and secure the electricity supply of the future. Accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology, the University of Bristol MSc in Nuclear Science and Engineering trains students to be the future experts of the industry.

Using a hand-tailored selection of nuclear focused lecture courses, site visits and research projects, students gain a thorough grounding in the science and engineering underpinning nuclear energy systems of the present and future.

Developed and delivered in partnership with industry, this MSc programme includes a focus on nuclear professionalism. Graduates will leave equipped with a familiarity with the nuclear industry and its unique safety culture, preparing them to enter the industry or continue in academia.

Classes will teach about the construction and design of nuclear fission and fusion power, decommissioning of existing facilities and management of the fuel cycle and waste.
