The Modelling Team in Materials and Analytical Science (MAS) at AWE is looking for Scientists at various stages of their careers across Materials, Mathematical and Chemical Modelling disciplines to support research and development within a wide range of technically challenging projects.

Material and Chemical Modelling Scientists - 'Computing the Untestable'

Location: Reading

Salary: £33,770 - £45,000 (depending on your suitability and level experience)

We currently have roles available in the following disciplines and are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of materials and/or chemical science
  • Experience in constructing material models of representative systems with particular focus on molecular reaction chemistry
  • Experience in optimizing molecules and identifying transition states
  • Experience of running electronic structure codes such as Gaussian or NWChem
  • Experience in scientific computing languages

To be considered for these roles, you must have a degree or higher qualification in a physical science, or proven experience working in a similar environment and possess strong communication skills.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
